Coffee Hour

following the 10:30 Worship Service each Sunday

This is a great time to visit and get to know each other over coffee, juice and snacks.

The kids use this time to show off what they did in Sunday School and play with each other (on the playground as weather permits).

The Youth (7th -12th grade) tend to grab their snacks and head for the Youth Room to hang out until Mom or Dad are done.

Adult Sunday School

Will resume September 12, 2010 at 9:20am each week

Learning our faith and living it out are the two objectives in the Sunday Adult class.  Whether we’re studying the Bible or spiritual practices, open discussion is the norm.  We don’t want you to leave your mind at the door when you come to class.  All perspectives welcome!

“Don't Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart” begining April 18th

We are called to care for those who are suffering but doing that effectively can be a challenge.  Sometimes our intentions to comfort end up increasing people’s suffering.  This five week study based on Kenneth Haugk’s book “Don’t Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart”  will help us clarify our thinking and hone our skills on being with people who are experiencing tough times.

Children's Church

Will resume September 12, 2010

during the 10:30 service each Sunday

Children's Church is a time for little ones, ages 3 through 13 to leave the sanctuary and talk about the lesson of the day in a manner that is easier for young ones to understand.  Children sometimes sing, talk about great things that have happened in their lives, pray about sad things that have happened, and relate all of these to the Gospel or lesson of the day and week.

Earthbound: Created & Called to Care for Creation

Wednesday night adult study, April 7th - May 5th, 6:15-7:30 pm. Come and explore the biblical and theological foundations of the Christian call to care for God’s creation! The study will explore the ways the Christian faith has sometimes misread scripture, misunderstood dominion, misunderstood our identity, misread the biblical visions of heaven, and misunderstood God’s abundance in a world of limited resources.  Each session will draw upon the knowledge and expertise of top Lutheran theologians and biblical scholars with a brief video presentation, allowing time for further group study and reflection. Please note, this series does not argue the politics of climate change or offer specific prescriptions for how we are to live out our vocation to care for creation; rather, its intent is to help us rediscover this part of our Christian vocation and uncover barriers that may have kept us from being faithful to that calling.

Childcare will be provided.
