Coffee Hour

following the 10:30 Worship Service each Sunday

This is a great time to visit and get to know each other over coffee, juice and snacks.

The kids use this time to show off what they did in Sunday School and play with each other (on the playground as weather permits).

The Youth (7th -12th grade) tend to grab their snacks and head for the Youth Room to hang out until Mom or Dad are done.

Adult Sunday School

9:20am each week

Learning our faith and living it out are the two objectives in the Sunday Adult class.  Whether we’re studying the Bible or spiritual practices, open discussion is the norm.  We don’t want you to leave your mind at the door when you come to class.  All perspectives welcome!

“Good God Questions” is the topic of our Sunday morning series.  Guided by the reflections of Luther Seminary professors, we will talk about such questions as “Why is there suffering?” and “What about my child who has been baptized but doesn’t believe anymore?”  Those will begin in February following our annual January meetings.

Children's Church

during the 10:30 service each Sunday

Children's Church is a time for little ones, ages 3 through 13 to leave the sanctuary and talk about the lesson of the day in a manner that is easier for young ones to understand.  Children sometimes sing, talk about great things that have happened in their lives, pray about sad things that have happened, and relate all of these to the Gospel or lesson of the day and week.

Transformed by the Cross

On Wednesday evenings through Lent, we will be focusing on what it means to be “Transformed by the Cross” both in our 6:15 Adult Discussion Class and during worship at 7:00pm.

Our worship will feature a variety of settings with faith stories each week by members of our congregation.  Those who will share their transformation stories include Mike Wheat, Karl Eklund, Laura Lease, Ed Albright and Kelsey Barnum.

In our first discussion, we’ll talk about the meaning of transformation.  Succeeding discussions will focus on different signs of transformation:

Please join us on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5:30 for a pot luck supper followed by discussion and a brief Lenten Worship

Childcare will be provided.

Earthbound: Created & Called to Care for Creation

This adult study, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday nights in Lent, has been postponed and will now begin on April 7.  I look forward to talking about caring for creation on Wednesday nights throughout April and May as Fairbanks begins to feel the warmth of springtime. -Intern Kim
