Sunday Adult Forum

Sundays at 9:15am

Join us in the sanctuary to discuss a range of topics, from family life concerns to spirituality and world religions, led by Interim Pastor Kristi, members and guest speakers. A schedule of discussions is below.

Schedule of Topics
NOV 6 Ghosts from the Nursery: How our experiences in the first three years of life shape our adult lives. Neuroscience and psychology studies show abuse and neglect in the early years literally change the way the brain develops.  This raises questions about parenting styles, early childhood education, and early intervention services for our youngest at-risk children.  NOTE: I AM NOT A DOCTOR, so I'll be presenting the information as I understand it as a parent and layperson. Led by Amanda Eklund.
NOV 13 “Why do humans want to explore outer space?---What has been accomplished and what's next?” led by Juan Roederer
NOV 20

“Theological and Liturgical Similarities and Differences between Lutherans and Catholics ” ever wonder what the similarities and differences are?  Come find out in this informative, light-hearted discussion led by Susi Doyle Larson.

NOV 27

“TBA” led by Pastor Kristi?

DEC 4

Ministry Site Profile Review and Q & A on the Call Process led by Alaska Bishop Don Maier

Children's Church

during the 10:30 service each Sunday. Sorry it's not available during the summer.

Children's Church is a time for little ones, ages 3 through 13 to leave the sanctuary and talk about the lesson of the day in a manner that is easier for young ones to understand.  Children sometimes sing, talk about great things that have happened in their lives, pray about sad things that have happened, and relate all of these to the Gospel or lesson of the day and week.

Centering Prayer

This group is temporarily not meeting but hope to resume soon.

This is a small group that is using a contemplative program of centering prayer. This type of prayer encourages a deep and thoughtful engagement with God.

We meet Tuesdays at 4:30 at the home of Beth Butcher. Please contact the church for more information and directions. Please note that Beth does have a cat.
